How to close trades: OANDA desktop
1. How to close a single trade

Click the Trades tab

Click the row showing the trade

Click the CLOSE button

Click Submit
2. How to close all trades and orders

Click the Account menu at the top-left corner of the platform

Click Close All
-
Choose Close All Trades or Close All Orders
3. How to close your whole position in a particular currency pair or instrument

Click the Positions tab
-
Click the row showing the position
-
At the prompt Are you sure you want to close <instrument name>? click OK to close the position
4. How to close all positions with an exposure to a specific currency or instrument

Click the ExposureThe current market value of all the positions a trader holds. Higher exposure magnifies potential gains or losses. tab

Click the row detailing the currency/instrument to which you no longer want exposure

At the prompt Are you sure you want to close <instrument name>? click OK to close open positions with an exposure of your specified currency/instrument
5. How to partially close a trade to reduce your exposure
To reduce a position, open a smaller order of the same currency pair in the opposite direction. If, for example, you wish to reduce a long (buy) position, place a short (sell) order, or vice versa.
The original position is reduced by the number of units of the smaller order in the opposite direction and will be partially closed at the current rate.
In the example below, we have a long trade of EUR/USD.

To partially close the trade, click the Sell button

Enter the size you wish to close and click Submit

On the warning prompt, click OK to partially close the existing trade
