How to place an entry order
OANDA Desktop Trading
Below is a list of steps to place an entry order.
1. Click on the buy or sell price for a particular instrument listed under the Rates panel to open a trade ticket (new order window)
2. Make sure you have selected Entry OrderAn instruction to buy or sell an instrument when its price reaches a predetermined level.
3. Choose whether you wish to BUY or SELL
4. Verify the instrument selected is the one that you wish to trade
5. Input the size of the trade by entering the number of units
6. Input the price at which you wish the entry order to be triggered
7. Set your entry order expiry time
8. Set your trade preferences, such as Stop loss and Take Profit orders
9. Click Submit to place the order
OANDA Web Trading
Below is a list of instructions on how to place an entry order.
1. Click on the sell or buy price for a particular instrument listed under the Rates panel to open a trade ticket (new order window)
2. Alternatively, you may open a trade ticket for the instrument displayed on your chart by clicking BUY or SELL
3. Choose whether you wish to Buy or Sell
4.Choose either Limit or Stop depending on whether you wish to buy or sell when the instrument reaches your predetermined price
5. Input the size of the trade by entering the number of units
6. Input the price at which you wish the entry order to be triggered
7. Set your entry order expiry time
8. Set your trade preferences, such as Stop loss and Take Profit orders
9. Click Submit to place the order
MT4 desktop platform
Below is a list of instructions on how to place a pending order.
1. Double click on the symbol name for a particular instrument listed under the Market Watch panel to open a trade ticket (OrderAn instruction to buy or sell an instrument under the specified conditions window)
2. Input the size of the trade by the number of lots in the Volume box (for the sample, 1.00 lot is equivalent to 100,000 units of currency)
3. Input your Stop Loss and Take Profit preferences
4. Select Pending Order in the Type field
5. Select the type of pending order you would like to create Buy Limit, Sell Limit, Buy Stop or Sell Stop
6. Input the price at which you wish the order to be triggered
7. Set your entry order expiry time
8. Click Place to submit the order
