TradingView user guide (OANDA Asia Pacific)

This guide applies to your live and demo v20 and OANDA One sub-accounts, as their functionality is similar. Screenshots are specific to v20 and for illustrative purposes, so the visual experience may vary slightly for OANDA One.

  1. You must have a TradingView account.

  2. You must have an OANDA live account.

    You can trade on v20 demo, v20 live and OANDA One live sub-accounts. You cannot trade on OANDA One demo sub-accounts in TradingView.

  1. Go to the TradingView website and log in with your TradingView account credentials.

  2. Navigate to the OANDA broker page.

  3. Select TRADE near the right-hand side of the screen.

  4. Click on Connect.

  5. Select one of the following login methods and follow the steps:

    1. Enter your OANDA email address. Then, click on Continue.

    2. Enter your OANDA password. Then, click on Sign In.

      • If the demo and live account email addresses are different, use your respective credentials to sign in to the required account.

      • If the demo and live account email addresses are the same, your accounts are linked. You must use the live account password to sign in.

      • Remember that your password is case-sensitive and may include numbers and special characters.

    3. If you have the two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, enter the code from the authenticator app.

    1. After setting up a passkey, you can log in with your passkey.

  6. Go to Products > Supercharts.

    You will notice OANDA at the bottom of the screen.

In the Supercharts view, at the bottom of the screen, all your v20 demo,v20 live and OANDA One live sub-accounts will be listed in a dropdown list next to OANDA. You can select the sub-account you require for trading.

You cannot trade on OANDA One demo sub-accounts in TradingView.

In order to find the instrument click on the instrument name in the top left corner and type the instrument name.

A majority of symbols available on v20 sub-accounts in OANDA apps are also available in TradingView. For OANDA One sub-accounts, all tradeable symbols in TradingView have the .ONE suffix.

If you have both v20 and OANDA One live accounts, you will find two sets of symbols in the symbol search, regardless of the sub-account that is currently selected. One of those symbols will be tradeable on the currently selected sub-account.

The following example explains how to select the right symbol:

  • GBPAUD is tradable on the v20 sub-account

  • GBPAUD.ONE is tradeable on the OANDA One sub-account.

Due to system limitations, the symbols list may contain non-tradeable symbols that should be ignored. When you try to trade on non-tradeable symbols, you will notice the following message:

In the Supercharts view, at the bottom of the screen, you will notice the following options:

  1. In the Positions tab, you will find a list of your individual and net positions.

    The Net Positions view is only available for v20 sub-accounts. For OANDA One sub-accounts only the Individual Positions view is available.

  2. In the Orders tab, you will find a list of your orders.

  3. In the Account Summary tab, you will find the Account Summary and Closed Trades sections.

  4. In the History tab, you will find sub-tabs for All, Filled, Cancelled and Rejected orders. The History tab does not provide information about daily financing, deposits, withdrawals and order modifications. You can find this information on OANDA platforms.

  5. In the Notifications log, you will find recently completed transactions.

  1. Analyze the prices on the charts. Make sure you select the symbol that is applicable to the sub-account.

    The prices on the charts are only indicative (not tradeable). Indicative charts show possible price trends but not actual trade or execution prices.

  2. Right-click anywhere on the chart.

  3. Click on TradeClosedThe actual execution of buying or selling an asset, resulting in a completed transaction.. Next, click on Create new order...

  4. Alternatively, you can place an order by clicking on the Trade button on the panel at the bottom of the screen.

  5. In a ticket order window, you can:

    1. Depending on the account type, define the number of units (v20 sub-account) or lots (OANDA One sub-account) to buy or sell. You can check the lot size for the particular symbol and sub-account in the bottom section of the order ticket

    2. Switch between Market, Limit or Stop order or

    3. Assign Take Profit and Stop Loss.

  6. Once you finish setting up your order, click on Buy or Sell.
